Good News for PS3 Owners and Racing Fans!

If you happen to be a fan of racing, racing games, or even own a PS3, you likely already know this, but I'm pretty thrilled about it so I'll write it anyhow.  Ready?  Brace yourself.  Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 has a new release date for Nov. 24, in North America and Europe!  Those who are in Japan and Australia, as well as anywhere else, will have to wait until the 25th, but either way the wait finally appears to be almost over.  Like many others, I was seriously worried that this wasn't going to be brought out before the new year, and while that still might be the case, we can hope right?  While Browsing IGN's iPhone app I came across this and I have to be honest, I almost jumped for joy.

Of course, my pre-order has been in for a while, but now I'm presented with another problem (do they ever end?).  I now need a Logitech G27 racing wheel.  This one to be exact:
But the best part?
It actually performs as well as it looks, and let's face it, it looks beautiful as far as simulation racing wheels go.  Leather steering wheel trim and shifting boot, authentic feeling 6 speed shifter and responsive, weighted, pedals.  It's okay, I know you're floored, so was I after trying it out at a friends for a while.  Well done, Logitech.

Of course, ideally I would love to have a full cockpit setup, but my girlfriend wouldn't allow it, so this will just have to settle for a little while (maybe once I make millions somehow?).

In Conclusion:
If you've never tried the Gran Turismo series, and you're curious, go out and pick up a copy of GT5: Prologue.  You can get them pretty cheap at EB Games (Gamestop in the U.S.), or any other local dealer, or even eBay.  You will not be disappointed.
And if you already know you like the series, but haven't gotten around to pre-ordering, do it now!
Amazon.ca is no longer selling Collector's Editions, which is a shame, but you can still pick one up from the American site.  It looks to be well worth the $100 or so you will have to spend, with plenty of extra in-game features, and a collectible die-cast Nissan GT-R.  The Collector's Edition link is below.

Well, that's my inner-geek for the day, thanks for reading.  See you on the track, on Nov. 24th!
